Hannibal – Season 1 [Blu-ray] [2013] Movies turned into series are often a bad idea. New actors, directors and the need to develop characters often ruin what was simply a good movie. So I held off watching Hannibal season one for a while not wanting to ruin my enjoyment of the movies. I only started to watch it when the first season was down to £10. Hannibal season one is without doubt a well written, brilliantly acted and wonderfully intense journey through investigations of what are; some really horrific murders. Will Graham (Hugh Dancy) is about to walk away from hunting serial killers however he is convinced by Jack Crawford (Lawrence Fishburne) to stay. He enlists the help of renowned psychiatrist Dr Hannibal Lecter (Mads Mikkelsen) to keep Will on a stable mental footing. Unfortunately for Will Graham his unique psychology peaks Hannibals darker interests and he begins to manipulate Wills very reality with artful deviance. Mads Mikkelsens performance as the infamous cannibal is chillingly good. Bringing Hannibal’s manipulative streak to the fore, hidden only by a facade of detached calmness.
